Iberia is weird

So i go to Iberia.es to book some flights. I try to get Barcelona->Paris (just one way) for 30th November. Price is 632 €. OUCH. Then i try Barcelona<->Paris (roundtrip) coming back home the 2th of December and it costs 136€. Errr, what?

Anyone with insight in how flight companies work can explain that nonsense? Or is it just that French hate us and they let us go to do some tourism and come back but not just go? :-D

Update: The french hating us is a JOKE. I've been twice to Paris and it has been great.

That is actually the way it works. One way tickets are almost always more expensive than round-trip. Don't know why though!

Come on :)
That's an old spanish legend that the french hate the spaniards (reality's quite the opposite).

Please stop spreading this FUD ;)

Have a nice time in Paris!

PD: preparate, tendrás que aguantar el genio de los Parisianos...

it is part of the grand scheme of obscur pricing. Rule of thumb: return tickets alway cost less than single. If you really want to just use the single ticket, just take a return and drop it.

One way? Nobody buys a one way ticket - except suicide bomber. This price implies the cost for the three secret service agents which will sit left, right and behind you. If you love your life don't dare to do the slightest move during the flight ;)

That's because one-way trips have all these extra "rights". You can change the date, passenger name and things like that, so they're charging you for the administrative overhead. If you want to do that on return trips, you'll have to pay extra. That's how it works on most airlines anyway.

The French hate everyone, but if you wear a "Fuck America" T-shirt they'll hate you a bit less.
